recording calls for a podcast

TL;DR I'm going to record using the external device that I have, with guest on a speaker hooked up to my phone. then I'll just record both of us. the downside is that it will be on one track. and i have no monitoring. that is good.

  I use an H1 and put it between the phone on speaker and me talking. I've done more complex stuff but this method honestly works great.

  I use a Zoom. I use an XLR mic to record my voice. I use an aux cable from my laptop/phone to line into my Zoom.
  The guest hears me through my internal mic on my phone/computer and I capture their voice through the zoom.
  That gets me the best results that I've found.

  1. we are both on google hangouts, i am using a mic
     then recorded using the handheld recorder...best so far
  2. wifi calling was better fidelity when caller was on the phone
  3. using hangouts/skype to call my cell phone, then i was recording on my handheld
