If you are not happy, the answer is inside yourself.
Even if you think selfishly, you should be happy. Why? Your network just got better. Someone close to you that you love got something they wanted.
A few more things:
You do not know if it would be good or bad for you. For example, people might think their friend made a ton of money, and they did not. They might feel sad. Maybe if you made a bunch of money, you would have blown your life up.
Just because something seems unfair does not mean it is bad.
Another thing is that like sometimes it seems unfair. They did everything that you did and they got the win.
First, what is a 'win?' I think we saw from the previous example that you do not know what that is. It is what you want, but that does not mean that it is good for you.
Second, even if it is what you want, you need to ask yourself, why are you doing what you are doing? You enjoy the process? You enjoy the game? You enjoy playing it? Then continue doing that. Consider, that there is currently no 'winning' for enjoying a day out on the beach with friends, laughing and sharing stories. As much as people with a toxic mindset try to make it out to be.
People posting on social media has weaponized that creation of envy. Do not let it harm you. You can enjoy it. But people crying out for someone to love what they are doing? They are crying out for love.
Honestly, if you are super wealthy, it is preferable to be anonymous than famous. Look at celebrities. Some people like that attention. That scale. It may be useful. But notice that there is a difference between having something and compulsion to having it.
Some people have wealth, power, fame. Some people need it and need the chase in order to feel normal. That is a difference. That is an issue. One test? Let's say you had something, a million dollars, influence over a large company, an expensive purse/car? What if you could not tell anyone? Maybe then, what you want is some sort of external validation and adulation.
That is a losing game.
Be a good person.
All games internal.
Be a positive contribution to the world.
